I'm constantly reminded of the beautiful places Earth has to offer. In early April, I had a chance to spend nine days on Kauai with my fiancée's family, and my gosh, that place is amazing. Its unique microclimates, lush vs dry landscapes, and majestic coastlines make it a 'must-visit' in my book. (Stay tuned for next week's newsletter on how to visit and things to do.) But you also don't have to fly 3,000 miles to see beauty. You can walk the neighborhood as spring blooms unfold, or stroll in a forest at sunrise to see beautiful light rays. However you are choosing to get outside, I hope it brings you joy. Earth Day 2025 - Limited Time Print Sale
So, I know I'm a bit late for Earth Day. But still, every day is Earth Day in my book. I've put together some of my favorite photos from the last year or so into this gallery to show off the rugged and beautiful work we live in. As a photographer, one of the best ways to support us is by buying prints. The harsh reality of photography is that it's an incredibly competitive market, and we often know that when we go out to take photos, it's for our passion and enjoyment, rather than for monetary gain. That said, I would be honored to have my work hanging in your home or office, or given as a gift. If you see something you like or want to support my work and help me continue to photograph new destinations, buying a print or sharing my work is a wonderful way to start. Better yet, if you know anyone who runs a company and needs to update their artwork, I'd be stoked to offer a bulk discount. These prints will be available until May 5.
If you don't see a photo you like, shoot me an email with a few locations you'd love to have on your wall, and maybe I've been there! I don't have many East Coast photos, but I have plenty from throughout the West Coast and our national parks. Happy feast week, everyone! Jaimie and I are traveling to the Bay Area to see her family, and it'll be nice to warm up some as Denver's temps are DROPPING! I'm not sure how November flew by so fast, but here we are. I hope you and your families have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Thank you for being here and supporting this newsletter. I truly appreciate it. And if there is anything you want me to cover, just ask! First things first. I think you all enjoy traveling and probably saving...
Hi ya'll! Happy Monday! Jaimie and I went to Chicago this past weekend for her bridal shower with my side of the family. And then we had a big ol' party to celebrate and catch up. I haven't been back to Chicago in 16 months, and it was nice to see family. I also just found out on Thursday that I'll be heading to Canada next weekend for a whirlwind trip to Churchill. I'm still processing it all. When I say I'm shocked. I'm shocked. This was not on my 2025 bingo card. Can't wait to catch you...
Gorilla Trekking in Rwanda In the early 1900s, mountain gorillas were not known to Europeans. By the 1980s, scientists feared that they would become extinct by the end of the 20th century due to poaching and the capture of baby gorillas for zoos. With that fear, conservation efforts ramped up, and Rwanda's government, along with NGOs, made a concerted effort to protect mountain gorillas from extinction. With numbers as low as 240 in the 1980s, they are now over 1,000. A new census is being...
